In order to complete the second phase of the upgrade of the research facilities for the University of Delaware Chemistry Department, the South Wing of Brown Lab required renovating. The South Wing of Brown Lab was renovated to match the newly completed Lammot DuPont Lab.
The project included substantially demolishing the four floors of the existing lab building and fitting it out as a state-of-the-art chemistry research lab. One of the major challenges to the project team was the upgrading of the mechanical system to accommodate the dramatic increase in air flow requirements. Several value engineering studies were required to determine the most cost-effective way to accomplish this upgrade.
EDiS Company provided cost, schedule, and quality control management to UD. The renovations to the South Wing of Brown Lab were finished on time, with a savings to the owner of over $300,000 and with a high level of quality, in large part due to the efforts of EDiS.
