EDiS Company constructed a pre-engineered metal building at the Otis Smith Lab in Lewes, DE. The facility was built to serve as a robotics lab. The scope included the demolition of an existing greenhouse structure and concrete slab, as well as the demolition of the existing HVAC and electrical system. The 6,000 square foot metal structure was built with insulated interior walls. Footings and foundations were built, along with a new concrete slab. A two-ton electric ceiling hoist and track was installed to run from the overhead door location through the length of the structure. Non-skid epoxy floors were installed, coated, and sealed. Lighting, HVAC, sprinklers, and alarms were installed, as well as a cold storage unit. A new generator imperative for laboratory functionality was installed shortly after the completion of the structure itself.

The EDiS Building Systems (EBS) Solutions team knew that pre-engineered metal buildings can assemble quicker than traditional buildings for less cost. With unlimited design flexibility, these buildings can be custom-engineered to specific dimensions, structural criteria, and materials in accordance with local building codes.
