St. Mark’s High School had many renovation needs and a limited budget. They had to create a new two-story main entrance and administrative wing, fill in an existing three-story light well with classrooms, renovate their library, chapel, and the mechanical equipment of their existing classrooms.
As soon as EDiS Company got on board with the project, the team did an estimate of the scope of the work. The estimate indicated that the budget was insufficient for the scope of the work as it existed. We worked with St. Mark’s and Homsey Architects to develop a list of value engineering items that would reduce the cost of the project.
In the end, St. Mark’s was able to get almost all of their original scope at the most competitive price because of EDiS’ good estimating and value engineering during the pre-construction phase of the project.
