EDiS Company completed an interior renovation of approximately 11,300 square feet of space in the library and guidance area at Padua Academy. Padua required the upper balcony area of the library to be infilled and transformed into a guidance suite consisting of four offices, a conference room, and a reception area. The team altered the lower level of the library to add a resource room for student testing and a new office for the Academic Dean. The former guidance offices were converted into three classrooms. Corridors outside of the library and guidance offices, which were originally walled with carpeting, are now lined with custom millwork panels.

quickly through the challenges.
The project’s biggest challenge was figuring out how to safely remove two sets of spiral stairs that were encased with unknown and excessive amounts of reinforcing steel and concrete. EDiS found a safe solution that would not significantly alter the short, 8-week project schedule. EDiS utilized the company’s signature Pre-Install Process to work with the subcontractors to create innovative solutions to safely and successfully remove the stairs and remain on schedule. The solution was to weld four legs into the stairs and then gradually pull them down. EDiS also used the Pre-Install process with the subcontractors to deliver and set the steel on the project and to safely get the concrete into the building for the deck infill.
