Indian River High School

After reviewing the bids, EDiS determined that some of the bids were much higher than they should have been for the market due to lack of competition in some trades and hidden costs in others. Working closely with the architect and the school district, EDiS was able to value engineer out those hidden costs. Additionally, with the use of a multiple contract bidding strategy and selected alternates, EDiS was able to successfully re-bid the project. The high school was put out to bid again and came in within the school district’s budget, without any major changes to the design.

One of the areas in the building that was successfully value engineered was the performing arts center. EDiS gave the school district options by bidding alternates for theater lighting, seating and rigging. The school district was able to accept the alternates that they could afford and ended up with a state-of-the-art performing arts center for its time.
