EDiS Company was contracted to renovate the Hagley Museum. Working closely with the design team to manage the budget and schedule during preconstruction, EDiS was tasked to construct multiple archive storage rooms within the existing 32,254 square foot records storage facility. Custom HVAC equipment was installed to deliver stringent temperature and humidity controlled environments. Desiccant drying equipment and steam humidifiers were used to provide verifiably controlled environments. New archive cold storage rooms were installed with each unit capable of maintaining both temperature and humidity levels suitable for sensitive document storage. This project provided the museum with long-term safety and preservation for their collections and other travelling exhibits.

The Hagley Museum and Library now has a state-of-the-art, preservation facility that will hold important artifacts and library collections. Their collections tell the unfolding history of American enterprise and represent an important part of our national heritage. The addition of this cleaning booth within the storage facility will enable the conservation of artifacts, many of them large industrial objects, following national preservation and conservation standards. The booth will offer staff a safe, environmentally friendly space for preserving these national treasures for generations to come.

EDiS was also tasked with installing a Butler Manufacturing metal roof. Butler systems offer significant cost and performance advantages over conventional construction methods, including lower life cycle costs for greater return on investment, unlimited design flexibility, and sustainability attributes such as 100% recycled steel and superior thermal building envelopes.
