EDiS provided both construction management services as well as Butler pre-engineered building system components to complete the Jones Center expansion project. Incorporation of the Butler pre-engineered structural system provided Goldey-Beacom with a low cost, schedule efficient alternative solution to a large clear-span column face gymnasium. The exterior facade of the building consisted of both Butler wall panels as well as ground and split face block. A series of floor ramps were used to connect the various levels of space between the new and existing building as well as within the office space.
Balconies with windows overlooking the gymnasium lend more openness to the facility which is 12′ below grade on one end of the building in order to keep the roof height consistent with the existing building. The project was completed on time and within budget.
