EDiS Company provided Construction Management services for the addition of a corridor that connected the main building to a classroom annex and provided for two additional classrooms. The renovations to the structure originally built in 1967 included work on the main office to improve security, a new school store, several classroom reconfigurations, new bathrooms on the second floor, replacement of windows throughout the school, new ceilings, and new energy savings mechanical equipment and ductwork.

The team utilized a phased construction plan and delivered this complex project during the summer 2013. Once school began, our team coordinated closely with the school system to work at night and systematically move through the facility, finishing the renovation work classroom by classroom until the project was completed in August 2014.

A.I. du Pont takes advantage of an ESCO, or Energy Services Company program. An ESCO is a business that develops, installs and arranges financing for projects designed to improve the energy efficiency and maintenance costs for facilities over a seven to twenty year time period. What sets ESCOs apart from other firms that offer energy efficiency is the company’s compensation; it becomes performance based, the ESCOs compensation is directly linked to the amount of energy that is actually saved in utility costs. In the case of A.I. du Pont, Trane serves as ESCO and provides energy saving mechanical equipment to the project at no upfront cost to the School System.
