EDiS Company is incredibly proud to announce that we have surpassed the one-million-hour mark without a lost time incident – 1,257,797 hours to be exact! For EDiS, safety is an intrinsic part of our culture: it is not about checking off boxes or meeting requirements, it is about our passion for people, and our commitment to their well-being. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), nearly 6.5 million people work at approximately 252,000 construction sites across the nation on any given day. The fatal injury rate for the construction industry is higher than the national average in this category for all other industries. These statistics really show the magnitude of our achievement, and fill us with pride. Thank you to all of our employees, and to the wonderful contractors and subcontractors who have worked hard alongside us to reach this achievement. Here’s to going into 2018 ready to hit the next million-hour milestone! “Safety is a team effort,” said Richard P. DiSabatino, Jr., Executive Vice President. “We have a very strong safety leader in Jim Ruggiero, and he continues to make a huge impact in our safety efforts. In the end, though, it takes each and every company on a job site working together to make it safe. The efforts of our superintendents and project managers, along with commitments to safe practices from both the field and office staff of our trade contractors, have lead us to this accomplishment. We could not be prouder!”
