The EDiS Company team cannot wait to bring the new Kennet Library to life! EDiS will serve as the Construction Manager on the new 31,500 square foot Kennett Library facility to be located in the heart of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. A regional library, Kennett library serves eight communities in Southern Chester County. The new Kennett Library will replace the existing facility, and is designed to better reflect the community the library serves while keeping it modern and accessible. EDiS has provided consultation on the design elements and programming, and has completed cost estimates to assist the library in both establishing a budget and helping to facilitate fundraising efforts.
In March of 1995, the old library entered the computer age when it circulated its first book on the Kennett Library integrated automated online computer system. Twenty six years later, the community will receive a state-of-the-art library that will help to revitalize the historic downtown and elevate the surrounding area. EDiS could not be more aligned with the vision of Kennett Library, “to be the catalyst for a community of lifelong learning and discovery.” It will feature a 110-seat auditorium, conference room, children’s maker space, adult maker space, two classrooms, one multipurpose room, four tutor rooms, a quiet and reflection room, computer carrels, several quiet reading areas, and 922 square feet of outdoor terrace space.
