EDiS 2024 October Fitness Challenge

At EDiS, we have a broader commitment to long-term employee wellness through our Well-01(k) Program. Introduced by Brian DiSabatino in 2017, the program was created with the belief that caring about our employees’ long-term wellness goes beyond financial well-being—it’s about physical, social and emotional, and financial health, too. Since then, we’ve turned wellness into a core value at EDiS.

One of our program partners – CardioKinetics – had an Around the World fitness program. Inspired by the creativity and energy the program inspired, we adapted it to EDiS, sending teams on virtual journeys from Wilmington to EDiS’ Sant’Omero origins. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, and the camaraderie was infectious.

This year, we’ve brought a new twist by adding a fantasy theme. Teams still work together to earn miles, but we’ve added bonus activities with a Dungeons and Dragons flair, creating a fun and engaging environment that’s about more than just fitness.

The challenge is designed to last six weeks, long enough to form new lasting habits. Our goal is for participants to carry these healthy habits into the holiday season, a time when staying active can be difficult.

The success of the challenge also depends on teamwork. No single person can carry the team; everyone needs to pitch in. This shared responsibility builds camaraderie and keeps motivation high as teams work together to reach their goals.

It’s inspiring to see the impact the challenge has on people. I’ve seen teams take more walks, choose the stairs over the elevator, and embrace daily movement. Personally, it’s motivated me to reach my own fitness goals as well.

To keep everyone motivated, we’ve got some great prizes lined up:

  • First Prize: $25 Amex Gift Card, bonus prize tickets, and a newsletter shoutout.
  • Raffle Prizes: Apple Watch, $50 Amex Gift Card, Soda Stream, EDiS Gym Duffel, Headspace app subscription, Theragun Mini, and a Cozy Meditation Basket.

At EDiS, wellness isn’t just a word for us to throw around — we want it to become a way of life for our people. The 2024 October Fitness Challenge is one way we show our commitment to helping our team build healthier habits and stronger connections.
