It’s difficult to celebrate when an individual who has impacted so many different lives in so many different ways departs. As the famous saying goes, however, all good things must come to an end. After years of excellent leadership and project completions, Mike “Freda” Freda is finally hanging up the hard hat. Freda was the steady heart of EDiS, and he will be sorely missed as he retires at the end of June.

Freda has always been the problem solver. He is the guy you want with you in a crisis – he is calm, cool, and collected. Under all that calm is an engineer’s mind, one that is meticulous and works with extraordinary attention to detail. Freda is always thinking. He has a passion for building, and it came through on each project he worked on (over 170!), no matter the project type. Since 1989, he has used that passion to build some of EDiS’ most complex projects. His experience is extraordinarily diverse; Freda has built libraries, office buildings, parking garages, educational buildings, community, recreation, and healthcare projects as well as having specific expertise at navigating client needs in the industrial and warehousing sectors.
In addition to his role as Vice President, he also served as Operations Manager and Vice President of EDiS Building Systems (EBS) Solutions, the EDiS pre-engineering metal building division. Working closely with both the EDiS and EBS teams, he looked for opportunities to integrate pre-engineered solutions to save our clients both time and money.
Perhaps most importantly, though, is that Freda is one of the nicest, kindest people you will ever meet. His time was always available to those who needed an ear. We congratulate him and his family as he starts this new chapter. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement, Freda, and thank you for helping us Build What Matters for so long.
